History...
Withdrawn and replaced by buses in 1958, light rail vehicles returned to the streets after an absence of more than 40 years. A comeback in style at the beginning of the 21st century in the city of Bordeaux.
The Bordeaux municipal authorities (Communauté Urbaine Bordelaise) made the decision to implement a modern and efficient light rail system in 1996. After three years of construction, the system was inaugurated on December 21, 2003 by the President of France.
